The Christian PEN

The Christian PEN is open to any Christian* who:

• is a freelance proofreader, editor, or other writer-supporting occupation (at any level)
• is seriously planning to become a freelance proofreader/editor, or
• is investigating the freelance proofreader/editor field.

Network Membership in The Christian PEN’s online group is FREE!

Network members can:

• Enjoy online fellowship and networking
• Post messages relevant to freelance proofreading, editing, and related occupations
• Exchange ideas, tips, news, findings, questions/answers, resources, and suggestions
• Post details on conferences and events
• Ask questions about editing, proofreading, and other aspects of Christian publishing
• Share discoveries from The Chicago Manual of Style and other publishing references
• Pass on writing and business tips
• Advertise books and other products, and buy other members’ books as well as various writing and reference materials
• Take online courses offered by contributing members
• Get one-on-one tutoring in being a freelance editor/proofreader
• Get job leads posted by fellow members
• Refer clients you can’t handle yourself (either due to time constraints or because the client’s needs are outside your area of expertise)
• Best of all, you become a member of a family of freelancers like yourself. Members may include the words “Member of The Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network” on their business cards, websites, resumes, and other promotional material.

Contributing Membership:

For $40 per year, contributing members of The Christian PEN enjoy additional benefits:

• Regular postings of leads for self-publishing authors who are currently seeking editors
• The option to place an ad on our website with links to your website and/or blog
• Receipt of our quarterly e-newsletter, PEN Points. Each issue will include an interview with a “featured editor”—any contributing member may be a featured editor.
• Publication of your articles (with a bio that has your links) on the website and/or newsletter
• Promotion of your published books (including self-published and compilations) in the newsletter
• Eligibility to write articles for the website and/or newsletter )
• Discounts on online courses
• Opportunity to teach online courses

A subgroup of The Christian PEN, TCP-Prayer is a forum for sharing prayer requests, praises, and other personal messages.
